Manny Pacquiao, the current Pound-for-Pound champion and Fighter of the decade is set to fight Shane Mosley on 7th May this year. The internationally acclaimed Pacquiao acknowledges the possible threat to his Pound-for-Pound title ahead of this face off with Mosley.
The fight is going to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Shane Mosley or “Sugar” Shane Mosley has never been knocked off by a fighter till date. This fight will determine whether he continues to hold this feat or does Manny Pacquiao walk out with another record. Both the fighters are gearing up for this big bout.
Manny is training in Baguio while Mosley is training at home in California. Mosley’s trainer, Nazim Richardson, says that Mosley is in good shape and they are ready for the upcoming match. Richardson also reiterates the fact that Mosley should not be underestimated because of his age.
Manny on the other hand has clearly said that his P4P title may be at stake and he is thus, taking this match seriously. Manny Pacquiao is a professional boxer as well as a politician and is an eight-division world champion. He is a boxing heavyweight and the first boxer in the history of the sport to win ten world titles in eight different divisions.
Despite being the obvious favourite he is determined to keep his P4P crown post this bout against Mosley.
Shane Mosley has won titles in three different weight divisions. Born in Pomona, California, he is currently training there for the upcoming bout. Hardcore boxing fans however are not too thrilled about this match since they feel that Mosley is way past his prime at the age of 39 and has been in bad form since quite a while. His fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. was testament to his fraying energy levels and stamina. However Richardson, Mosley’s trainer, feels experience is the key and sometimes experience leads one to a short cut which may even put one above the faster and younger opponent. Fans of both the sides can just wait and watch for the 7th of May to see which side emerges victorious.
